AWANA is our Wednesday evening program for children from 3 years old (by September 1, 2019) through 8th grade. The purpose of this program is to develop spiritually strong children who grow up as faithful Christ followers. AWANA meets at 6:00pm each Wednesday evening during the school year.
We offer three different age related AWANA classes:
Cubbies - designed for 3 and 4 year olds. This program uses handbooks written in a fun, storybook style that appeals to preschoolers. Each section combines basic Scripture memory with parent-child activities to help a child grasp simple biblical truths.
Sparks - designed for Kindergarten-2nd grade. This program takes kids deeper into God's Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to understand their need to trust Christ as their personal Savior.
Truth and Training (T&T) - designed for 3rd through 5th graders. The program strives to teach boys and girls the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.
Middle School Students (6th-8th) help serve in our different classes.
Just in case you were curious, AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT is a ministry sponsored by the Student Ministry of Sandy Plains Baptist Church. It is provided for parents of newborn children through fifth grade.
HOW IT WORKS:
Parents sign in their dis at the start time of the event. During this event, a meal will be provided along with recreational activities, a movie and snacks. Children are supervised by a team of adults at all time. The even is over at 9:30pm and we ask that all parents pick up their children (no matter how much they might not want to do so).
There is a cost of $10 per child with a max of $25 per family. Proceeds to toward assisting in sending our students to summer camp.
This event requires that the parent complete a Contact Information and Medical Release Form. Once this form has been completed, it will be kept on file through the school calendar year and the parent will simply need to check their child in at the door. Forms are also available at the door and can be filled out prior to check-in.
