Huricane Melissa Relief

Many people have asked how we can help provide relief to those affected by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. Most of the members of The Way Church, our sister church that meets in our Student Center on Sundays, have family in Jamaica. We were thankful to hear their family members survived, but everyone in the country has been deeply affected by the storm. It took almost a week for people to make contact, and we are currently working to find out how we can help support them directly.

Many people in our church also know Anna who comes to Sandy Plains. Anna spent much of her childhood and young adult life in Jamaica, before moving to the United States. She has set up an Amazon Wish List to help provide support to one of the hardest hit areas, and she has already coordinated transport for the items that will be donated in the next week.

Additionally, the North American Mission Board has set up a website where you can donate money to support Southern Baptist Churches affected by Hurricane Melissa.
